Today we read, “God is still with us, just as on the day human being were created.”  That jumped out at me more than a little bit.  I’ve often thought of God as far off, and that one day we’ll get to draw close to him, but the reality is that God has drawn close to us in Jesus.  Immanuel, God is with us.

Maybe it’s more about me paying attention to the ways that God is at work in my life.  Recently I was on my cell phone talking with someone sitting outside overlooking the church lawn.   I saw multiple bees buzzing around.  My son has gotten stung by multiple bees, and the last time he was stung here at the church and I had to take him to the ER because of his body’s reaction.

As I’m watching the bees buzz around, I’m reminded that God is always with us, even in the difficult times.   After taking Elijah to the ER this past summer, we had a couple of good days of cuddle time as his body recovered.   While I pray he never gets another bee sting, I am grateful for the time we had to hang out and just be with each other.

Thank you Lord, for showing up in unexpected ways!   Where did you see or meet God today?  Let us know in the comments section below…
